 Happy Canada Day!!
We've been in Montreal since Monday and in this time we've had the pleasure to visit with Michel's cousin Denise and her husband Georges as well as their son Eric and his wife Isabelle.

We spend the day today (Canada Day) at their home just relaxing and visiting. Also enjoyed a wonderful BBQ.

Some of the sights we've visited on our stay include:

View of Montreal from Mount Royal

Chalet at Mount Royal

St. Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal

We had our car broken into while visiting this church.  Our back passenger window was smashed and our back pack stollen from our back seat.  Fortunately we didn't have much in it - but we did loose our souvenier jackets from San Felipe, MX (which we've had for years!) and Michel lost his new favorite ball cap purchased in Vulcan, AB to commemorate 50 years of StarTrek!

The outdoor gardens of the Way of the Cross at St.Joseph's Oratory was beautiful.  It's a 200,000 sq. ft. area with a meandering pathway.  Such a relaxing walk on a hot day!

A walk through Old Town.

A visit to Notre Dame Basilica.
This church's gothic type architecture is among the most dramatic in the world. The interior is grand and colorful. So very different than the Oratory of St. Joseph.....
What better way to end the day with a visit to Schwartz's Montreal Hebrew Deli.  Noted as serving the best Smoked Meat sandwiches. That being the reason for the line up outside!

But it was worth the wait!!!
