Suzi is scheduled to get into the body shop for repairs, but for some reason the shops are all so busy we won't be able to get it done until spring.

But, in the mean time we took a trip to Kelowna in June in search of a new car. Without the RV, we require some decent wheels to be driving down to California in the fall. Buying a new car was like pulling teeth. At first we were in search of a GOOD used vehicle 2019 or newer... and not black !! We checked every dealer in Kelowna, but this was not going to happen. And ordering a new car was another story. 8 month waiting list for most. The KIA dealer had a new car that we test drove. It was okay. The last place we went was the good old trusted FORD dealer. They had ONE...right off the truck, 5 km on the speedometer, that met out criteria. WHITE! So we leased a 2023 Escape Titanium. It is quite a remarkable little car, does everything including parking itself.

We had some visitors this summer at different times. Dave and Marlene, friends from Rainbow Spa, who live in Merritt stopped to see us. They were attending a family reunion in the Kootenays and driving right through our little City, so they parked their 5th wheel where our RV used to sit and spent the night. We had a good visit. Thank you so much for thinking of us.

We also had a visit from Karen and Sepp. Two more friends from Rainbow Spa, who live in Creston. They have a boat on the coast and drive through our little city a few times during the summer. They stopped twice on their way to the coast. We had two lovely visits with them over lunch, and made a promise to stop for lunch with them in Creston when we go through to Alberta next time.

This month I flew to Alberta to visit my kids for a week. I went up to Grimshaw with my grandson and his girlfriend to see my son for a few days,  and then spent a few days in Ponoka with my daughter. Michel went to the Island with his son for 4 or 5 days.  I had my fix, and he and his son had some father/son bonding time.

Okay, time to blog again. I haven't reeaally blogged in a very long time so I am forcing myself to recollect events from memory. This could be scary, but in reality, no-one will know........

As we never sold the motorhome in the US, we drove it home. My daughter Tammy and her husband bought it and we agreed to deliver it the long weekend in May.

We drove to Alberta to deliver the RV to them in Ponoka, and along the way our front driver tire on our little Suzuki (tow car) blew out. All went well getting the spare on and we carried on without another hitch.

So this is what the tire looked like, and the mess it made of our poor little car.

Here she sits in her new home in Ponoka, pictured with new owners, Tammy and Rob. I truly wish them as many happy years as we've had with the old girl.

We have had the motorhome for sale for a week or so now and have had no interest from EBay, RV Trader etc here in Palm Springs area. BUT we have had a lot of interest from Kijiji Edmonton. So we have decided to take it home and sell it in Canada.

In the mean time... we are buying a Park Model in Rainbow Spa.

There is a tenant renting it until end of May, so we left a nice deposit but, won't be taking possession until we return in the Fall. It needs some TLC but we are up to the task. So this fall we will be driving down with the car.

Activities are still happening in the park although outsiders cannot attend.

On Sunday the 6th of March we had a Luau dinner. It was well attended and the food was delicious. Michel and I were the greeters, Lei-ing everyone who came through the door. Some pictures .....

Then on Thursday the 10th was Ladies Luncheon, once again well attended by 20 ladies. We went to an Irish Pub called O'Caines. Great place, good food with wonderful friends. Pictures follow....

The park is now open to outsiders, as of Saturday the 12th.
This day we had Patio Sales in the morning and then the evening was topped off with our annual Spring Fling Dance.

That's all folks.....
more to come as this week is fairly busy.

January 19, 2022

Our park is in lockdown until end of February, and has been this way since January 13th when the Board voted to have it this way. It's not the end of the world, but this means no outside people are allowed to attend our activities. So our big event and fund raiser "Street Fair" has been cancelled, as well as the Valentines Dance. We are still plenty busy as the calendar of regular activities goes on and on ....

Yesterday the January Birthday Luncheon was well attended by 19 ladies from the park. There were 2 birthday girls present. We carpooled and had southern food at a restaurant in Cathedral City called Southern Bell. We all had a good time. And I must add it was very hard for Marion (standing) to find a restaurant that would take a big group like this with Covid looming in the air.

Then today Tina and I attended Maureen's Paint and Sip at Desert Oasis.  She was teaching us the technique of "Dot Art"....too many dots for me!!

This is the group, most of whom I know from previous years at the park.
Maureen includes me and Tina in all her workshops and we really appreciate her.

This is my project, still unfinished and I am not sure I even like it. Give me a paintbrush and I am much happier!
