Monday night cards with Solange and Leo, Wednesday afternoon Bingo at the Seniors Center (Michel calls, I play) Friday night Bingo at the Community Centre (Michel calls, I play), then Saturday Meat Draw at the Legion. We walk the Canada Trail back towards our place and visit Doug and Diane, who live next door, Michel hikes up to his flag. We have met some very nice people here at the Fort, and of course we have our group that we enjoy being with.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij1HMeoMF-ksr3QA4tbENRRxwEpsOcVnVL4ebOfaGZV2fZ7a4lOHcX0vnMI9sLuf5FraYMvM8m-k43P55GWZkYdcW1zgAA_iHdyqDHEFI5VzvAq--pZSk0T2A6KRhiBiX_sUkw7AuMyd6plKbeU5L0825pz_zaXat6WcVRi9FBZyBtnjeYMLJHgO6NpAI/s2048/373033458_316398164207418_1202712921683977941_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1450" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij1HMeoMF-ksr3QA4tbENRRxwEpsOcVnVL4ebOfaGZV2fZ7a4lOHcX0vnMI9sLuf5FraYMvM8m-k43P55GWZkYdcW1zgAA_iHdyqDHEFI5VzvAq--pZSk0T2A6KRhiBiX_sUkw7AuMyd6plKbeU5L0825pz_zaXat6WcVRi9FBZyBtnjeYMLJHgO6NpAI/s320/373033458_316398164207418_1202712921683977941_n.jpg" width="227" /></a></span><div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div></span><p></p><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkDE5q7qfrv4PfGt5ZesQHyu0HQ6kfgcIMM-qPX_Ynd_R-Rdz0IJ_MLn9NPYardLzcUYejApdUtxkisTrKUEZxtoFWADkifjwMbwl9nD-qdJFmzrdLcnvoTWwJCmQWSK7jJ2X7YHA6d5-Bm604L4QuE9Le_UwIOYApbWodkP4ZGs_77D1PxoQAD0BXWpI/s1997/371946379_135814956224917_4311036190766937824_n.jpg" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1390" data-original-width="1997" height="223" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkDE5q7qfrv4PfGt5ZesQHyu0HQ6kfgcIMM-qPX_Ynd_R-Rdz0IJ_MLn9NPYardLzcUYejApdUtxkisTrKUEZxtoFWADkifjwMbwl9nD-qdJFmzrdLcnvoTWwJCmQWSK7jJ2X7YHA6d5-Bm604L4QuE9Le_UwIOYApbWodkP4ZGs_77D1PxoQAD0BXWpI/s320/371946379_135814956224917_4311036190766937824_n.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">the Tranquility</span></td></tr></tbody></table><span style="font-family: helvetica;">August 17th we drove to Kelso, WA on an invitation from Ken and Liz McAllister (friends from Rainbow Spa) to go cruising with them for a week. April was cool here so not a lot of outside work got done, but during this month we made the decision to sell our lovely little place here by the creek. </span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">May and June were busy months, cleaning, decluttering, getting rid of stuff we really no longer need nor want in preparation for the market. <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Michel had a fall from his ladder from the top of the gazebo early May which bruised his ribs and scratched him up pretty badly, as you can see it is all concrete!! This set him back a few weeks of so. He was quite a bit of pain for a while.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">We listed our place on Thursday, June 1st on Kijiji and Castanet (Kelowna) and on Monday the place was sold. Full asking price, the first person to come look at it. What a shock that was! 30 day possession.. even more of a shock. Now we really had to get busy, packing, cleaning, garage sales (2) (more like give aways) and two loads to the dump. WOW..</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">That is not the end of the story.... we also had to find a place to live until we head south in Mid October. (furnished no less). We are very blessed to know wonderful people in this little city (which I might add, we will miss ALOT). A friend Dave has a destination trailer in Fort Greenwood he is not using and he agreed to rent it to us. So we will be able to move in July 1st. All our stuff is in storage in a 20 foot container and Daves place has basically everything we need. </span></p>Sandy and Michelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15269540450533062010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-70716820195403138.post-39063714451687242662023-09-04T13:59:00.004-07:002023-09-04T14:10:02.120-07:00March 31, 2023<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY6PpIKcCc91hvPrZVHdvDQ90J4UIv1KT31Sa3Y5zl_0FxQMMva7A09ABB8dimjpnzb0z8uif1-HjI_fQO4S_PQDyEPBOVjuiIgU4xQeyGzCRFNhwAAXxIgeceEqeKan8R_RDam1BrpGWxbBT5weIT9HjjJ7DpG98dAvd_GwPQ9Op_tsoGr2qo2zA1p_c/s1007/336613830_210932061619056_7774844884429692172_n%20(1).jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="676" data-original-width="1007" height="215" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY6PpIKcCc91hvPrZVHdvDQ90J4UIv1KT31Sa3Y5zl_0FxQMMva7A09ABB8dimjpnzb0z8uif1-HjI_fQO4S_PQDyEPBOVjuiIgU4xQeyGzCRFNhwAAXxIgeceEqeKan8R_RDam1BrpGWxbBT5weIT9HjjJ7DpG98dAvd_GwPQ9Op_tsoGr2qo2zA1p_c/s320/336613830_210932061619056_7774844884429692172_n%20(1).jpg" width="320" /></a></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;">This is the busiest park we have ever been in. It was quite late in December, the 17th, and sales were poor for everyone in attendance. He says: "If it were mine, I would raise it, but I'd go up by two cinder blocks not just one, and put in a real door. So the project began. Eli and his son do a bit of work around the park and were recommended. The day of though, there was just Eli and Michel. Eli in his truck, and Michel tying a huge chain around each tree for Eli to pull out. It was scary, but it got done. No pictures. Without the RV, we require some decent wheels to be driving down to California in the fall. Buying a new car was like pulling teeth. At first we were in search of a GOOD used vehicle 2019 or newer... and not black !! We checked every dealer in Kelowna, but this was not going to happen. And ordering a new car was another story. 8 month waiting list for most. The KIA dealer had a new car that we test drove. It was okay. The last place we went was the good old trusted FORD dealer. They had ONE...right off the truck, 5 km on the speedometer, that met out criteria. WHITE! So we leased a 2023 Escape Titanium. It is quite a remarkable little car, does everything including parking itself. </div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo9apDvwyEfUSYhogAfwcZJLRAwxH6E5Jh0PkEwcktSm_9x0WRUtZZ4edqU0lolbpXqdsIFojGXr9aIJCN7e1geJFh0i_5ZpDqYWWZCXF6ex-mbew97qlyPKXklbp3i9qjTfOqpT3ycl8szDe4Twoo_VojgP9MbVsO2lWbvc0gDE8tCEcnCcu5jUTS/s2048/320197095_605070088088961_8283190046178594250_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo9apDvwyEfUSYhogAfwcZJLRAwxH6E5Jh0PkEwcktSm_9x0WRUtZZ4edqU0lolbpXqdsIFojGXr9aIJCN7e1geJFh0i_5ZpDqYWWZCXF6ex-mbew97qlyPKXklbp3i9qjTfOqpT3ycl8szDe4Twoo_VojgP9MbVsO2lWbvc0gDE8tCEcnCcu5jUTS/s320/320197095_605070088088961_8283190046178594250_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkmvKLvWZGfZInHj2gOuh8Rm28EvK1ybmihIXbAdhb2Qn6rU7t3xp8SBEMlJnLjcH8AToix6WuwoN0_8LKVtg8MHEFoqi9u1l7VCfydAp3qTIhLKGadaqt86yAqmnXXKcOPJOPiKstrfguUXBLiTTPMfjmWDlhonS3Krn7ELN2ljgY53JFpDQJUsHd/s4000/283588890_692291918549880_5296542241795893479_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="4000" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkmvKLvWZGfZInHj2gOuh8Rm28EvK1ybmihIXbAdhb2Qn6rU7t3xp8SBEMlJnLjcH8AToix6WuwoN0_8LKVtg8MHEFoqi9u1l7VCfydAp3qTIhLKGadaqt86yAqmnXXKcOPJOPiKstrfguUXBLiTTPMfjmWDlhonS3Krn7ELN2ljgY53JFpDQJUsHd/w320-h297/283588890_692291918549880_5296542241795893479_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>We had some visitors this summer at different times. I went up to Grimshaw with my grandson and his girlfriend to see my son for a few days, and then spent a few days in Ponoka with my daughter. Michel went to the Island with his son for 4 or 5 days. I had my fix, and he and his son had some father/son bonding time.</div>Sandy and Michelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15269540450533062010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-70716820195403138.post-78287587154634720852023-01-12T14:10:00.001-08:002023-01-12T14:10:13.677-08:00June 30, 2022<p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Okay, time to blog again. As you all know, she is an old girl, 1999, but he runs so good, we just wanted her to look as good as she motors.</span></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcIbz6-IIFqz7COla5VkzfWeGVmfrs2w6ak_vW1_-kmeedCqoq2c_NJ_mMiaEFTE6JK2Bijwu3JQ2IDXQpwYOLwhesK8n1cWbmH4z7Ta5sl_GYEynIM4IdDkmWcqgM0aBCB4tZd2HDZOI/s960/242646795_6236299686412460_4476645080318702303_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; display: inline !important; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcIbz6-IIFqz7COla5VkzfWeGVmfrs2w6ak_vW1_-kmeedCqoq2c_NJ_mMiaEFTE6JK2Bijwu3JQ2IDXQpwYOLwhesK8n1cWbmH4z7Ta5sl_GYEynIM4IdDkmWcqgM0aBCB4tZd2HDZOI/s320/242646795_6236299686412460_4476645080318702303_n.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: verdana;">So all that being said, here are pictures of the progress: </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">You can see where the sun has bubbled the clear coat. We are members of the Royal Canadian Legion Greenwood branch #155 and have been for a few years now. My dad would be proud...ha ha. He tried to get me to join for years when he was the Grand Puba at the Grimshaw Legion many years ago. I always told him that the Legion was for old people. Well guess what....I'm there. How did that happen?</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Anyway we have become involved a little bit. I am on the Executive, Michel is tending the bar one day a week, and we will help out at the Meat Draw, when that starts up again of course. We've made a few new friends, though we haven't associated much because of Covid, but with the restrictions lifting a little bit we can actually have outside visits. Looking forward to it. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">We have our appointment for the second dose of the Covid 19 vaccine on June 21st, and so do most others in this community. It feels good to be able to wander around a little more. Less stressful for many.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Things are beginning to get back to normal. Indoor seating at restaurants now with social distancing; Seniors Wednesday afternoon Bingo has opened with limited seating; and the Friday night Bingo will likely get going again in July. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">All is good, thanks for reading.</span></p>Sandy and Michelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15269540450533062010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-70716820195403138.post-65971093244410435462021-06-06T10:53:00.004-07:002021-06-06T11:04:31.183-07:00June 04, 2021<p><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFz0e1PPt3r5JjPOWlAlLxXo-Vvxn_X9YFQAKGAVvqgycuhyURJYNbP1rVeGCPj4W68VApIy3OfUfKMjVmQ3NWHnl77jJoTA_tQ-6vvub93hXrJL8EqixVYFANIrIWat52aO_u6W523MA/s1532/177517132_305137904461745_2603458586522452175_n.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1036" data-original-width="1532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFz0e1PPt3r5JjPOWlAlLxXo-Vvxn_X9YFQAKGAVvqgycuhyURJYNbP1rVeGCPj4W68VApIy3OfUfKMjVmQ3NWHnl77jJoTA_tQ-6vvub93hXrJL8EqixVYFANIrIWat52aO_u6W523MA/s320/177517132_305137904461745_2603458586522452175_n.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">April 25th weekend and I commited myself to a Craft Show here in Greenwood. </span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">There were only 7 vendors and probably less lookie loos. And had been so since before Christmas (a very long story). It was no wonder he couldn't see. So he was sent to Vancouver for emergency surgery, as of that moment (3 o'clock in the afternoon). His friend Jack, who lives in Penticton agreed to take him, because there was no way I was driving to Vancouver in February!! They were there for two nights, and I stayed with Jack's wife Sharon in Penticton. Because the retina was detached for so long before surgery the prognosis for sight wasn't wonderful. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">So, all that being said, we went back to Penticton last week for the laser surgery he was suppose to get in February. </span><span style="font-family: verdana;">His sight is still somewhat blurry, but he can see and he is legal to drive. This is the good news.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">So we visited briefly with our tenants. We were both very excited to see how everything looks after all the work that was done to the condo. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">We are quite pleased with the outcome and the tenants love it!
