The weather here has been cooling off. Temperatures around 10-13 degrees in the afternoons, and we have been taking advantage of the beautifull sunshine. Michel goes for a walk almost every day - I join him, but not every day. We've been touring the hills on the west side of Greenwood, and exploring the trails and old mine shafts. (here is a picture of Michel inside the opening of one of the many abandoned mine shafts)

Here we have a of picture of the fall scenery - the trail that we were driving on.

And in this photo we have a view of Greenwood from the North. You can see the school and directly beside it to the right is the area we live in...

Well, we're still in Greenwood.

Usually we'd be leaving for the south by now, but as of yet we've made no plans to go. Earlier this spring I unloaded EVERYTHING from the motorhome into our new mobile home and this week Michel was busy outside winterizing the moho. We're going to try to hang out here for the winter. How else will we know if we like it here or not? But of course, nothing is written in stone..... if we decide that we just can't put up with the winter .... we'll just go.

My daughter Tammy and grandson Tristan were here to share Thanksgiving with us.
As you can see by the date on the picture, September 20th, it was taken the last time they came to visit. We were so busy visiting and playing, I didn't even think to take out the camera. But we enjoyed their company and had a wonderful visit. It will actually be our last visit until next summer because they are moving - from Kelowna - back to Grimshaw (northern Alberta) where they will begin 'a new life'. Tammy met a wonderful man who wants them to share his life with him. He has a good job and his own place just outside of Grimshaw, so that is where they will all live. I'm sad that they are leaving - BUT no one deserves happiness more than Tammy - I'm so happy for them. Maybe we'll be hearing wedding bells?

Our deck is complete.....
As you can see the railing is up, the stairs are finished... Michel did a super job! It looks great.
Michel should be very proud.

We got new patio furniture this year, complete with a swing.....

Michel was sure happy to just relax when the job was done.

We took part in the Rock Creek Fall Fair this past weekend. Michel and I joined Citizens on Patrol in Greenwood, and our first 'tour of duty' was Security at the Fair. For such a small town they put on quite an impressive Fair. Last year there was over 8000 in attendance and I'm sure they will have come pretty close to that again. We had day time security so all we had to do was walk around the fair grounds and enjoy all the events..... these pictures were taken at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning - before the rush!!

My son and his family were in Kelowna this past weekend. It was a nice surprise when he called on Saturday night asking if we had plans to go to Kelowna . We hadn't planned on it, but of course we did. We spent two great days there - Sunday and Monday. On Sunday we rented a boat and took the kids for a ride - Melody's first boat ride, and she squealed with delight. Here is Melody with her Mom (Khrystal) and with ther Dad (Farren).

In this picture (l to r) Michel, Khrystal, Melody (my granddaugher), Farren (my son) and Tristan (my Grandson). We had a great time cruising around the Okanagan Lake.

Here is a picture of Melody with her 'hair straight back' enjoying the breeze

We had a visit yesterday from friends Trevor and Carol. They are friends from Vernon, whom we met at Teacapan, MX last winter. They were on their way home from a 4-day camping trip with a group of antique car collectors and found their way to our place. What a wonderful surprise. They were driving their 1950-something BelAire and pulling a little trailer. And only too late did I think to take a picture of the car and rig ..... BUT - we had a great visit, chatted up a storm over coffee for a few hours.
