We're all settled in now at Fiesta RV Resort, where we'll lay back and enjoy our winter. Arrived on Wednesday the 23rd..
There are a lot of activities in this park, and if we get bored it will be our own fault.

On Saturday (26th) Doug and Ginette arrived en-route to their winter place in Desert Hot Springs. They are friends from home (Kamloops) whom we met through Steve and Doreen (you've seen pictures in previous blogs). They pulled their new rig into the site next to ours, and although our park doesn't usually rent by the night, they accommodated them with hook ups for two nights. We had a great visit. Even took in the 2 for 1 Buffet ($14.99) at the AVI Casino for all-you-can-eat Alaska King Crab legs. The guys went crazy!! They ate a LOT of crab legs.
We played at the casino, enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, and Ginette and I even took in the Pychic Fair at the Aquarius Casino.

Today we arrived at our winter destination - Fiesta RV Resort in Bullhead City, AZ. We'll be here until March, when we'll pull up the jacks and travel around a bit before heading home.  We had a very enjoyable, uneventful trip. Leaving home on October 17th, we put in a nice day and spent our first night at a nice Rec. Site along the Salmon River in Idaho called Skookumchuk. The second night we were in Jackpot, NV.  We arrived early (around 2:30) but decided we'd spend the night and catch a show. Motown Legends were at Cactus Pete's Casino and the tickets were so reasonable, we just had to go... $20.00 each and that included 2 drinks each! They had great entertainment with appearances from Michael Jackson and KC (pictured above with myself) Tina Turner (pictured to the left with Michel) and also Stevie wonder, Gladys Knight, Chuck Brown to name most of them. It was a good evening.
Next day we ended up at the Pahranacat Wild Life Preserve, where we spent two days just relaxing, and I took a few pictures.....it's a nice little place, a well kept secret, because it's a quick turn when you see the sign coming from the north.  It's easy to miss.

So that brings us into Vegas on October 21st (day 5 of our journey). Took in the Strip in the evening, but decided to leave the next day - only one day in Vegas. That's enough!! Now we can relax for a few months. Thanks for reading - I'll try to keep you all posted on what is happening with us.... Bye for now!

Our last trip to Kelowna before we head south for the winter. We spent a nice evening with Michel's parents, went out for dinner, played some cards.

This time we had the opportunity to visit with Michel's son Richard and his family. It seems like work and commitment has kept us from seeing them this summer, but we had a great visit (though short) and we got to meet baby Halle for the first time. She is now 5 months old!

lovely picture taken as they were leaving today.....
Tammy and Tristan came to visit again this summer, arriving on Thursday and leaving today.  It was wonderful to have them here and on Saturday we drove to Christina Lake.

Michel skiing

Our plan was to spend the day. We rented a ski boat and Tristan got to try skiing for the first time. He did awesome, getting up on the first try.

Tristan skiing

Michel skied a bit, then Tristan skied a bit more.

Just as we were bringing the boat into the Marina it began raining. It was overcast and a bit cool out on the water anyway, so instead of hitting the beach, we just came back to Grand Forks and went for a late lunch / early dinner.

We all had a fun day on the boat, but most of our week was spent just chillin' and enjoying our visit.

On Monday we welcomed a visit from another of Michel's "Nixon" nephews.
Ryan is one of (Michel's sister) Lise's six sons and Kate is his new bride.
We sure did enjoy our time with them. What a wonderful couple they are.
They left this morning for Kelowna to spend a little time with Grandpa and Grandma on their way back home to Calgary, where she is a nurse and he's a teacher. His dream job - working with inner-city students.

Doreen with grandson Kayden
Well we had another very nice evening with Steve and Doreen.

This time their eldest son was visiting from Salmon Arm with his wife and baby.  We had a fire and a little sing-song. We always enjoy our evenings with the Cavill's.

And of course the picture collage isn't complete without a toast from Michel and Steve!!
