Motorhome For Sale

We've decided that we'd like to sell our home on wheels. We'd like to get something just a little newer and with another slide (or 2). We've lived full time now in this unit for a couple of years and everything works and runs well.

It has 69,000 miles on the 300 CAT diesel motor, and those miles that we put on have been trouble-free.

So if anyone out there is interested - or knows of someone who may be interested - we've created another blog with all the details. Go to

Kelowna, BC

Home Sweet Home!! We crossed the border on April 1st. and it was sure good to see everyone again and give them big hugs. We stayed our first week in Winfield at Holiday Park while we got our 'stuff' in order - you know what I mean - car insurance, taxes, visiting, deciding what to do next??!! It's been a busy week.

Looks like we'll be staying around Kelowna for awhile, as Michel has started working for Burnco, driving a concrete truck. We'll be moving our motorhome to the West Side and residing at Lighthouse RV Park for the time being.

We celebrated two birthdays last Saturday. My grandson Tristan turned 11 on March 23rd and Michel celebrated his 58th on April 3rd. Here is a picture of the two of them blowing out the candles on the cake they shared. It was sure a yummy cake - chocolate mousse - sinful!!!!

Laughlin, Nevada

We're only a few days from being home...... Leaving tomorrow morning (March 30th) and planning on being home on or before April 2nd.
In the mean time, we're here at the Aquarius Casino in Laughlin, Nevada staying in our complimentary room. We have spent a few hours in the casino, Michel at the tables, myself at the machines. We also received complimentary tickets to the River Rodeo and to see Travis Tritt. So, in a way, I guess our hours in the casino were worth it????
We spent a fun-filled few hours in the sun at the Rodeo watching the Bronco Riders, Steer Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding. There was even an entry from Canada in the Barrel Racing, a young girl by the name of Kelly Rycroft, who hails from the Grande Prairie area of Alberta.

Then in the evening we went to see Travis Tritt in the outside Amphitheatre. There were no bad seats and he put on a fabulous 2 1/2 hour performance singing some of his old songs, some of his new ones and even some from other artists.

Oatman, Arizona

Took a drive to Oatman, AZ today. It's an old historic gold mining town born in 1906 and it's located about 18 miles or so from Bullhead City, which is where we are living these days. A town landmark are the burrows that roam the streets. It's very much like Tombstone (only much, much smaller), right down to the gunfights and shootouts staged daily on Main Street (which is the Historic Route 66) by the Oatman Gunfighters.

Emerald Cove RV Park, Parker, CA

We left Catalina Spa on March 6th and met up with our traveling buddies, Rich and Tina at Emerald Cove in Parker, CA. It was good to see them again. They left us in Teacapan on February 9th and we hadn’t seen them since. We both had to do some juggling of reservations to catch up for a few days. It was great to be with them again for awhile.

While there, they took us to “The Desert Bar” which is a unique bar situated in the Buckskin Mountains on land that used to be an old copper mining camp. “In the middle of nowhere” actually, 5 miles off the highway into the hills. Ken acquired the land in 1975 and by 1983 he opened for business in a temporary 3-sided structure, and operated there for 5 years until the current saloon was constructed in 1988. The name of the saloon “Nellie E” originates from the old mining claim.

It is a very unique structure. It has windows that are old glass refrigerator doors, the bar stools are made of steel and sway from side to side. The top of the bar is brass, and the ceiling is made of stamped tin. The saloon is powered by solar. He’s only opened from Labor Day until Memorial Day; Saturdays and Sundays from High Noon until sunset, and most holidays. He has live music for everyone to enjoy from 1:00 until 5:00. And people from all over enjoy - the place is always full.

Catalina Spa Resort, Desert Hot Springs, CA

Good friends Chris and Mike drove from Escondito, CA to spend the day with us while we were in Desert Hot Springs. We drove into Palm Springs for dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, Las Consuelas. Apparently this restaurant is rated in the top 10 in the world. Amazing!! We had a great visit, much too short, but it was great to see them again.
I got a big bad bug that started on February 24th and just hung on and hung on - for two weeks!! I didn’t think I’d ever feel good again. For someone who never gets sick - I sure did this time. Made up for all lost time….. Michel was lucky, he never got this one. But, he got a flu shot in Esquinapa, so maybe that saved him!!

February 23, 2008

Said good bye to friends Ray and Donna today. We’re reserved at Catalina Spa Resort on February 28th, so we dry docked for a few days just on the outskirts of Yuma at Paradise Casino. We went into Algodonas and Michel got some dental work done, and I got new glasses.
