Block Party #2 -- Our Block!

The theme was Hawaiian Luau and a crew of men got together to build this great Tiki Bar. The hall was decorated and many people came wearing grass skirts and, of course, everyone had a lei!!

A good deal of time and effort went into the preparation of this party. The food was pork skewers with veggies and grilled pineapple for dessert (cost $1.00) There was a wonderful punch being served throughout the afternoon (cost $1.00)

There were games played all afternoon with winners receiving small tokens as prizes. I got a lemon!

There was a hula-hoop contest, and hula-hoop races, and even a spot dance.

Once again, this park likes to party!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Our Social Committee served a feast of lasagna to over 65 people today, complete with chocolate truffle cake and ice cream for dessert!!

The hall was decorated in black and red and looked wonderful.

We had a group in the kitchen filling plates and 4 'servers' transporting the plates back and forth.

It worked out great, and everyone had plenty to eat and had a good time.

Pictures of our "jump jump" class!!

We've had as many as 11 doing Walk Aerobics Monday to Friday at 8 am.

We didn't know how it would be received when Michel and I brought our DVDs into the clubhouse at the beginning of November. But it was a welcome addition to the activities in the park, and we haven't missed a day, except Christmas morning!

Right after "jump jump" we meet in the pool for another 45 minutes of water aerobics.

Once we hit the hot tub for half a hour, that almost takes care of the morning!

Tuesday afternoons is 'Carding". Making greeting cards! I have enjoyed it this year, making 4 different cards.

A small group, but it was fun.

This was our second and last "Paint and Sip" afternoon. Some painted cactus and others a flamingo.

Well attended again, we are so thankful to Maureen for taking the time and organizing and teaching this class.

This time though it was a double-header. As well as painting a picture on canvas, we did an 'acrylic pour'. A different technique, one with less control. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

Some turned out remarkably well, while others were.... well, not to remarkable. This is just part of one table. There were three tables full of these works of art!

Not posting mine because it was the worst of all of them.

Something new this year at the park, but not part of this painting class, is the new mural Maureen painted by the hot tubs.  To show you what an awesome artist Maureen is. We are thankful she is here to help us all improve our painting skills (or lack thereof - lol)

Fun was had by all at the first Pool Party of the season.

Michel sitting with Stu but not looking up for the camera!

My job was to collect money for the margaritas!!

Sherry and Suzanne
The official margarita makers!!

Jenga has become a very popular game here at the park.
Prizes were awarded to the winning team, after a round robin tournament.

We had beautiful sunshine to bask in while we played and sipped!
