My cousin Karen posted these two pictures on her facebook page - so Thank You Karen , I will borrow them!

Yesterday we left our baby behind! Both babies to be exact - the car and the motorhome. They are tucked away in the storage compound at Sunshine RV Park in Vero Beach where they will be until we return at the end of January.

We enjoyed our time here at Vero Beach, and it was wonderful to spend time over the past 5 weeks with Tom and Karen.

But we are on to a new adventure. Tom and Karen picked us up at noon and we had our 'farewell' lunch at Cracker Barrel.

Afterwards the guys had a game of checkers on the restaurant deck before they took us to our drop off spot to catch the shuttle to Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Our shuttle was early, our flight was on time (7 pm) and we arrived in Quito, Ecuador ahead of schedule (10 pm). (4 hour flight with time change)

We pre-arranged an apartment for two weeks in Quito and our 'land-lady' Alexandra arranged for a friend to pick us up at the airport, so he was standing there when we arrived.  It was good to see our names amid the crowd.

All in all - we had a very good day, though it seemed a lot longer than 24 hours.
