We had company this week. My cousins Darlene and Ed Cyre and Phyllis and Hector Menard were here from Plamondon, Alberta for three days. They didn't stay in Fort Greenwood, because we still only have temporary power for the few living here, but they stayed across the street in the Greenwood RV Park. We had a great visit. My sister Cindy and her husband Dan and my daughter Tammy also came down from Kelowna for the day.
Here is a picture of the gang just relaxin' on the deck. (left to right they are: Tammy, Ed, Hector, Phyllis, Dan, Cindy, Darlene and Myself)

Here are a couple shots of our set up at Fort Greenwood. Still only have temporary power, but at least we can run our a/c, which is a very good thing seeing as we've had very high temperatures. The very nicest thing about this area, is that no matter how hot it gets in the daytime, at night it cools right down - even dipped as low as 6 degrees one night.

We had a visit from Ron and Ann Roszak today - friends we met at Catalina Spa in Desert Hot Springs two years ago. Of course I forgot my camera, so no pictures. But we went to Midway for a nice lunch and a good visit. Then they carried on back home to Osoyoos.

Today we resigned from selling lots and being the camp hosts here at Fort Greenwood. The park is about half sold and we decided we needed to 'step back' and relax a bit after being on-site and on-duty 24-7 since April. I think we'll enjoy our decision. We've moved onto our lot (with temporary power) and joined the other RVers who bought in Fort Greenwood.

Here are a couple of shots of our other lot. The one in the Mobile Home Park. It was covered with trees when we bought it, now it is leveled out and the trees are cut down.

You can see the pile of trees in the background of the next picture. We're standing where we plan on setting up a mobile home (in a few years!!) You can see the orange poles that we stuck in the ground for markers.Eventually, we'll probably live on this property when we're here for the summer.

And here is a pretty shot of our creek. It was taken after dinner so the sun had already gone behind the hill.

AHHH this is the life!

The temperatures soared here this week to 37 degrees plus. Thank goodness we are now hooked into a temperary power pole that gives us 30 amps of power. We would have wilted away in our motorhome without a/c. But Michel did find a way to cool off outside. He looks quite content doesn't he?

We had an unscheduled trip to Kamloops and the Shuswap this past weekend, and as you can see it was a pleasure trip. Michel's cousin Les invited us to come for the weekend and we spent Saturday out on the lake in the Shuswap. Michel did a little tubing, and I just relaxed. Actually got a little too much sun, but we all had a great day!

We came across this nice little waterfall, and there were hundreds of houseboats out on the water, some of them were mighty nice.

Check out this houseboat - pretty sweet eh??? I think we could have some fun on that for a week or so.

We went golfing today at Christina Lake with Stan and Jude. They also have purchased two lots in Fort Greenwood. We took the scenic route and drove through the US at Midway and back into Canada through Grand Forks. We stopped at the border crossing to buy cheap beer and gas then continued on to Christina Lake. The golf course there is a Par 3 and it's a nice quick game for me. I'm not much of a golfer and 9 holes is about all I can handle. (too many swings). It was the hottest day of the year (so far) 37 degrees or something like that and it was HOT!!!
