 We are hoping that the USA will open their borders to us snowbirds. We waited for word on the 21st of September, now we are waiting to hear on October 21st. In the mean time, life goes on. 

Michel has been busy. I have helped, but he's done the work. He tackled painting our motorhome. As you all know, she is an old girl, 1999, but he runs so good, we just wanted her to look as good as she motors.

So all that being said, here are pictures of the progress: 

You can see where the sun has bubbled the clear coat. Michel sanded, then primed.

Then the fun began.....

He bought himself a sprayer, and all the incidentals to get the job done. We ordered the paint, etc, etc, from a company in Kelowna, and they delivered it right to our door.

So he sprayed.... many, many coats of paint later, this is the finished product:

He even painted the back stripes, although two of these photos were taken before the stripes were done..... I can't believe how good it looks! 

Now all we have to do is wait to see if the USA will let us take her down and show her off!

First blooms of the season. It always feels promising when the flowers start to bud and open. It is a sign that summer is really coming. 

The poppies are always first, followed by my beautiful Jack Frost. Then soon after, along come my Irises. 

So now, all that being said, we've been quite busy this spring. We are members of the Royal Canadian Legion Greenwood branch #155 and have been for a few years now. My dad would be proud...ha ha. He tried to get me to join for years when he was the Grand Puba at the Grimshaw Legion many years ago. I always told him that the Legion was for old people. Well guess what....I'm there. How did that happen?

Anyway we have become involved a little bit. I am on the Executive, Michel is tending the bar one day a week, and we will help out at the Meat Draw, when that starts up again of course. We've made a few new friends, though we haven't associated much because of Covid, but with the restrictions lifting a little bit we can actually have outside visits. Looking forward to it. 

We have our appointment for the second dose of the Covid 19 vaccine on June 21st, and so do most others in this community. It feels good to be able to wander around a little more. Less stressful for many.

Things are beginning to get back to normal. Indoor seating at restaurants now with social distancing; Seniors Wednesday afternoon Bingo has opened with limited seating; and the Friday night Bingo will likely get going again in July.

April 25th weekend and I commited myself to a Craft Show here in Greenwood.  

There were only 7 vendors and probably less lookie loos. Can't blame anyone for not coming out on this cold, windy day. 

But we hung out there for 4 hours anyway.  Never sold anything, but I don`t think anyone else did either. 

The second Craft Show was Sunday of the May long weekend. The weather cooperated this time and there were more vendors and many more lookie loos. I managed to sell 2 paintings and 2 statues.  No pictures this time. Next one up June 27th. Can't say that I will do this every month, but for now I don't have much else to do. 

I made myself a little gnome to put in my garden and I'm thinking of adding a few of them to my lineup of dollies....... What do you think?

Time for an update. 

As not much has been happening, there is very little to blog about. 

Firstly, In February we went to Penticton for Michel's eye appointment (laser surgery) only to find out his retina had detached. And had been so since before Christmas (a very long story).  It was no wonder he couldn't see. So he was sent to Vancouver for emergency surgery, as of that moment (3 o'clock in the afternoon). His friend Jack, who lives in Penticton agreed to take him, because there was no way I was driving to Vancouver in February!! They were there for two nights, and I stayed with Jack's wife Sharon in Penticton. Because the retina was detached for so long before surgery the prognosis for sight wasn't wonderful. 

So, all that being said, we went back to Penticton last week for the laser surgery he was suppose to get in February. His sight is still somewhat blurry, but he can see and he is legal to drive. This is the good news.

So we visited briefly with our tenants. We were both very excited to see how everything looks after all the work that was done to the condo. 

We are quite pleased with the outcome and the tenants love it!  They are anxious to make it their home for awhile.

As my posts are few and far between, you have to know that January was a busy month for us. We bought a condo in Penticton. 

Two bedrooms/ two bathrooms.

  On January 4th we put in our offer 

  and we settled on the price the next 

  day. We closed and picked up our keys 

  on the 29th in Penticton.  

  We bought this with the intention of   renting it for a couple or three years   until we are ready to move there     (maybe). 

At the moment we plan to stay put here in Greenwood.

But, more about this busy month we've had. We put ads in three different places and were busy screening people and answering emails for weeks before we even owned the place. 

That being said, we had a few potential tenants lined up when we picked up the keys. We spent the night and showed the place two more times on Saturday before we headed home. 

As it turned out, one of the Saturday viewers is our new tenant. So happy now that we agreed to meet with them. And here is the great part of all of this. He is a Construction Contractor and is interested in doing all kinds of improvements to the place. We already bought the flooring, and they are going to paint and he will stall the flooring.

What really sold us on this unit was the bright kitchen/dining area and the outside patio. You can only get this from a corner unit....I love it!

I could show more photos, but really, a bedroom is a bedroom and who really wants to see a bathroom picture??

Merry Christmas! 

I thought I had better post one last time before 2020 gets gone.... and I am sure most of you reading this blog will be very happy at its' passing. Myself included.

 

I put up the Christmas tree earlier this year than I ever have. We have been enjoying the festive feel since the end of November. 

Our home is small, but much bigger than what I am used to decorating. 

Most of the "stuff" I haven't seen in years, as there is only a small amount that we take south with us when we go.

It was like Christmas opening up all the totes and rummaging through all my stored Christmas things. And it was fun!!

Our lives are really very quiet so keeping up the blog hasn't been an easy job this year. No visitors, not much happening to write about. 

I've started painting a little more. I put the dolls away for the time being, and began to paint .... get this.... Christmas cards!! But unfortunately my timing was a little off, because I am much to late to send them to anyone! Maybe next year I'll have a small collection and I'd remember to send them out at the beginning of December. 

And I have been doing a little baking. Made two tourtier and baked some cookies. That is about all I am doing for Christmas baking.

So from our house to yours, we send you warm wishes for a blessed Christmas and health and happiness for 2021.

Something I really didn't expect was snow!❄❄❅❅ 

Last Friday it was snowing when we got up in the morning and it snowed all day long.... we ended up with over a foot of the white stuff.  Light, fluffy white stuff! I have to say I wasn't impressed. We have never had snow in October, at least not since we've been here. 

Anyway, the thing to do is embrace it, after all we're going to be seeing a lot of it this year, staying home and all that.

We do enjoy our afternoons in the hot tub. Just about happy hour we'll pour a little toddy and just relax.

AND..... 

I'm still doing "Fabric Figurines"... 

This one was a custom request. My neighbour and good friend Diane (Doug) had this great piece of driftwood (complete with a toadstool) that really needed a fairy sitting on it, anso this was the completed project. She seemed happy with it.

This has become quite a pass time for me.
