And a view to the south of the RV park is this lighthouse......

Here we are all set up in San Felipe, overlooking the ocean, just a walk to the Melecon. Our Dutch Star is on the left - friends, Rich and Tina’s Southwind is on the right. It doesn't get much better than this......

On this day we crossed the Mexican border into San Felipe. Travelling again this year with Rich and Tina, this is picture of their ‘back end’ as we follow them on the Mexican road. It’s hard to imagine, but years ago there used to be water on both sides of the road….. The ocean has receded so much you can barely see it from the road.

In this picture - is the Federali Stop. It was pretty intimidating the first time, but now we just smile and open the door…. This year they really went through everything. There has been a lot of bad news about drug wars in Mexico, and friends from San Marcos, CA were quite concerned that we were going. In fact the American government were warning the Americans that they shouldn’t be going across to Mexico. The big trouble is in the border towns - Tiajana - Tecate - etc…. We never had any problem - we crossed the border early (7:00 a.m.) and were through Mexicali before the morning rush.

By 10:00 a.m. we were crossing the arches in San Felipe.

We’ve spent two weeks in the Desert Hot Springs area - one week at Desert Pools Spa and the second week at Catalina Spa. Our friends Rich and Tina have been in the area as well, but we weren’t able to reserve for the same park at the same time… But we did spend time with them. This is picture of Michel and Rich in the pool at the new RV park Rich and Tina were staying at. The wind was pretty cool that day, so Tina and I didn’t go into the water…. We just relaxed in the sun.
Here is a picture of the four of us at our ‘favorite’ Mexican Restaurant in Palm Springs - Las Consuelas -
And here are a few pictures of Palm Springs.

How's this for snow??? I don't miss it.....
We decided to leave all this behind. Michel busied himself digging the motorhome out of the snow and I got the inside ready - and on January 12th we headed south. In three days time we were in the sunshine. First stop - Pahrump, NV, where we met up with friends (from WA) Rich and Tina and visited with mutual friends (whom we met in San Felipe) Virgle and Helen. For this picture I set the camera on the table and set the timer - then ran like hell . It only took three tries to actually get all of us in the picture.
So we have (l to r) Rich and Tina; Helen and Virgle; and of course Me and Michel in the front.
Terrible picture but we had a great reunion.

Today - January 26th - we are in Desert Hot Springs. We've been here since January 19th and we'll be leaving on February 2nd for San Felipe.
More later - maybe I'll take a few pictures to share for next posting.

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year.
On New Years Eve we went to the Legion to partake in their 1st Annual New Years Eve Bash. It wasn't well attended, possibly 20 couples, but it was fun. We didn't know anyone, but by the end of the evening we had met a few of the locals. We danced, sipped wine and visited. And we were home by 12:45.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!

From our house to yours we wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year.

It was like Christmas came early for me as I opened all my totes of Christmas decorations. Most of these I hadn't seen in three years. I made the wreath in the window (my crafty project for the year) and put up lights and garlands on top of my kitchen cupboards. We bought a tree because the motorhome tree is only a foot tall... So now we have candles and pointsettas and santas and angels scattered throughout the house. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - especially with the foot of snow we have covering the ground.
