The creek is running pretty high, but no where near over the banks......

Valley of Fire, Nevada

Spent a night on the way home in this beautiful state park, just north or Las Vegas.

You can see our motorhomes nestled in the red rock.

We toured the area with Rich and Tina, did the trail walks, took some pictures.

These are what they call pyroglyphs (ancient indian writings)

And heading home a month later than usual - we got to see the desert in bloom - -

this is a beavertail cactus....

We spent a week in Parker, AZ at Emerald Cove RV Park and while we were there we took a drive into Lake Havasu. It was a hot day and we just walked along the lake and peeked into the shops along the way.

History of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu - In 1962, it was discovered that the London Bridge was "falling down," sinking into the Thames because it was not adequate for the increase in traffic. The City of London decided to put the 130-year old bridge up for auction, and construct a new one in its place.
Robert P. McCulloch, founder of Lake Havasu City, AZ, submitted the winning bid for $2,460,000 in 1968. McCulloch spent another $7million to move the London Bridge to Lake Havasu City which took a total of three years. Each block was numbered and shipped by boat 10,000 miles to Long Beach, California. From there, it was trucked to Lake Havasu City where it was stored in seven-acre fenced storage compound.
On September 23, 1968, the first corner stone was laid. Construction of a new bridge over the River Thames coincided with the dismantling of the old London Bridge. The new bridge was built directly over the old bridge. This new construction was managed in such a way so that London never lost one day of traffic while transferring from the old bridge to the new one. Reconstructing the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City was done in the same manner as the Egyptians built pyramids. Sand mounds beneath each arch were carefully formed to the profile of the original bridge arches, serving the same function as molds. When work was completed the sand was removed. a one-mile channel was dredged and water was diverted from the lake, under the Bridge, then back into the lake.

We left Mexico on April 1st and settled in at the new casino at Algodonas for a couple of nights. We went into Algodonas in the late afternoon, thinking we'd avoid the rush of people. We managed that all right - little did we know that the vendors all close up shop at 5:00. But we did avoid the rush - we were only in line at the border for about half an hour......

Happy Birthday Michel.....

We celebrated Michel's birthday on April 3rd in Quartzsite with 2 huge pizzas from Silly Als.

Later in the evening Tina and Rich brought over a chocolate cake, so we lit a few candles and did the sing song thing, then of course ate waaaay too much cake.....

Park Party - a good time was had by all.....

Happy Hour and Fish Fry in which everyone in the RV Park attended. There was only three rigs in the park, so it was a relatively small party.....

Harry (the gentleman on the left in this photo) supplied the margarittas - and Rich and Tina, Michel and I supplied the eats.... Michel bbq'd the fish.
(In this first picture are l to r: Harry, Rich, Michel)

Here is a picture of Michel pouring Karen (permanent resident in the park) a margaritta.
Also in this photo is Tina (r)

We were joined for dinner by Alfredo and his family; wife Theresa, daugher Gloria and even Momma Rosa came over to eat with us.

We were quite honored, because Karen had informed us that they don't usually join in with the guests.
